A group of ten sentenced of cyber-bullying directed at Brigitte Macron

A court in Paris has found guilty ten people for engaging in the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the spouse of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The defendants faced allegations of disseminating fabrications regarding her gender and sexual orientation, in addition to making malicious remarks about the pair's significant age difference.
The court issued suspended jail terms of as much as eight months to the perpetrators. The complete verdict has not yet been published.
A circulating unfounded claim suggesting that Brigitte Macron is a transgender woman has spread widely since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.
This recent ruling in France is concurrent with the Macrons initiating a defamation lawsuit in the United States against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted comparable unfounded claims about the French president's wife's identity.
Their lawsuit contends that Owens disregarded all credible evidence disproving her claim opting to give a platform to established defamers.
Owens has often echoed these allegations on her show and social media channels, and in March 2024 stated that she would stake her entire professional reputation on her insistence that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.
Brigitte Macron first met her current spouse when she worked as an educator at his lycée.
The couple tied the knot in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was 54.
